Trying to cool off in this heat?

A personal favorite treat of mine that I like to have when it’s hot out is some good frozen yogurt!

My pick would definitely have to be Starfruit! This whimsical shop located in Lincoln Park, Wicker Park, and the Loop uses Keifer to make their frozen treats. Go in for a refreshing smoothie, parfait, or a simple frozen Keifer. Choose from different flavors and toppings that are sure to have you coming back for more! My favorite is the vanilla frozen Keifer with strawberries, raspberries, and granola!

Boasting 10 live “probiotic” cultures and yummy goodness, Starfruit is a top pick!

Angel Hair Pasta in a Pesto Cream Sauce

Prep time: 5 min.
Cook time: 25 min

  • 1 box angel hair pasta
  • Trader Joe’s “Pesto alla Genovese” basil pesto (in a 6.7 oz jar)
  • 8 oz carton of heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 1 beefsteak tomato
  • 1/2 tsp. minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
  • Grated parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper

Salt water and bring to a boil for the pasta. Add pasta, following cooking instructions on the box. Meanwhile, cut up one whole beefsteak tomato into small slices and discard seeds. Sauté in a pan with olive oil and minced garlic. When pasta is done to your liking, drain water and add about 1/2 the jar of pesto (or any other pesto you prefer, adding up to about 3 or 4 oz). Add about 4 oz of cream, stirring the pasta until evenly distributed. Add the sautéed tomatoes and a spritz of fresh lemon juice. Serve with grated parmesan cheese and salt and pepper to taste.
